Incorrect Screen after hitting a hint button bumps the numbers out of whack,

Hi Articulate family.

I am new to articulate and I am having to learn it for work. I am having some trouble with a question in Storyline where the user clicks the Hint button,  then answers incorrectly. It causes the numbers to be out of place. They are correct on every other layer and even correct on the "incorrect layer" when you dont click the hint button. I have attached a screenshot below of what I am seeing. You will notice in the background the numbers aren't lining up correctly. Could someone tell me how to get them back to even? Thanks!

  • Hi Lindsay,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! ✨

We're so glad you're here and I'm happy to help troubleshoot! I have a few clarifying questions to start.

    • Does this happen every time a user answers incorrectly? Is it specific to one slide or question?
    • Is this happening in preview mode or when published? If published, which publishing option did you choose?

If you're willing to share your file with our team, I'd be happy to take a closer look at what's happening! You can upload it here or share it privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

  • It happens on one question specifically where the numbers bump off center. In my Incorrect layer for editing purposes, it shows they are in the right spot however once previewed it bumps them off center.

It happens in both preview mode and in the published version I sent out for review. We have our team review everything and provide feedback so I have a couple of versions out there.

It happens on slide 29 and 30. I have attached my file to this message.

    Thanks for your help.

    Lindsay

      Hello Lindsay,

      Happy to help!

The cause of the issue is the 'Selected' state of the Envelope image file in the slide. When this state is activated, the text in the image shifts as shown in the screenshot.

To correct the issue, you'll either need to delete the 'Selected' state of the image if you don't need it, or make sure that the numbers in the state line up correctly with their corresponding boxes. To do this, click on the image and select 'Edit States' to line up the text.

      Hope this helps!
