Is it possible to post rich text into Rise 360?

I'd like to be able to copy and paste text from various sources (MS Word, PDFs, random text online) into Rise and have it keep formatting to a certain extent (italics and bold, primarily). Is it possible to paste rich text into rise? Defaulting to text-only makes sense, but I wonder if I could change that setting.

There is no support for rich text as far I can tell.

Sometimes when you copy formatted text from other sources into Rise, you get weird characters instead of the formatting. I typically paste text as plain text and then format in Rise.

I use Chrome for Rise, and it allows you to right-click and choose "Paste as plain text".  That removes all source formatting.

  • Hey, Tim! There's not an option to paste rich text, but thanks for letting us know you have a need for that!

  • Hi everybody! Just wondering if there had been any developments on the Rich-text feature in Rise... ? Thanks in advance!

Hi Christian! Still no news on this feature. We'll update this thread if there will be updates.

In the meantime, please check out the Rise 360 roadmap.

  • Hi,

I wanted to follow up on this as well. In addition, I was wondering if any feature would be added so that you could add equations or special characters. I am working with a faculty member who would like to develop an OER for their statistics course and we noticed some of the characters could be copied in pasted but other could not.

    Thanks,

    Aimee

  • Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to pop in and share that we currently have The Option To Paste Rich Text Into a Rise 360 Lesson logged as a Feature Request!

I've included your voices and will update this thread if this feature makes it onto our Feature Roadmap!
