Is there a way to stop the text that displays a reference to a variable from shrinking?
I've created a slide with a textbox that displays a reference to notes a student has typed on a previous slide. I want the student to have the ability to type as much as they need to in the textbox and then be able to review it on the next slide. But if multiple lines of text are typed, the text shrinks down to an unreadable font size. I'd rather that a scrollbar is added to display all the text without shrinking it. I've tried disabling autofit, putting the textbox with the reference in a scrolling panel, etc., but nothing has worked.
I'm using Storyline 3. Is there any way to fix this?

Unfortunately, I don't think text boxes for dynamic variable text can resize to new content. It will always shrink the text to fit the existing text area.
I've always had to create a text box pre-sized to accommodate a lot of text, and put that in a scrollpane.
Thank you, Scott, for this VERY helpful answer! I didn't realize I could create a really long pre-sized textbox inside of a scrolling frame. This did the trick and is working exactly as I needed it to 🙏

Hopefully someday an update will make it so users won't have to see scrollbars unnecessarily.

In storyline 360 this is fixed, you must upgrade the text and then set to do not shrink
