Is there a way to submit assessment attempt information to the LMS and trigger a failed completion after three attempts?

I have the same issue. I know it is not the LMS because our previous authoring tool allowed us to do exactly what Jennifer was asking. When we programed the course it worked in the LMS. We allowed the users 3 attempts, after the 3rd attempt the course was marked as complete and the highest score was tracked. I cannot duplicate using Articulate. The course stays in the participants Active folder in the LMS until they pass the course.
