Is there any way to batch import audio files in Storyline?

I want to batch import audio files in Storyline, similar to how I do it in Presenter.  Is this possible?  If not, is it an upcoming feature?

thanks,

Elizabeth

  • Tested at SL2

    1) Rename "story" to "zip"

    2) open folder MEDIA from Explorer on Win

    3) change audio file to new with the same name

    the end

We really wish to have this feature on as soon as possible, should be a priority on your roadmap!

Considering this thread was created over 4 years ago, it's clearly not a priority. I stopped hoping for it ages ago and have just dealt with the inconvenience of doing it the tedious slide by slide way. It's sad that they regressed in features in this manner, but who knows, maybe one day they'll bring it back.

It's utterly scary that a feature considerable so "standard" and useful, that can really save a lot of time, is already been waiting 4 year to be developed.

I'm assuming there's still no batch import?
Just thought I'd check before spending a shipload of time and discovering it wasn't necessary. I have 40-something video files that I was hoping I could somehow insert straight from the Media Library onto individual new slides. i.e. That Storyline 360 would somehow auto-create a new slide for each video file rather than need me to spend the time creating the blank slides and adding each. I've searched and concluded that this feature probably doesn't exist, so I've added the Quick Access Insert Video workaround, but thought I might as well ask.

    Cheers

  • Hi Cody,

We don't have a feature that will allow you to insert multiple audio files at once and have those automatically split into new individual slides.

You can insert multiple audio files at once on to one slide - go to Insert > Audio > Select multiple clips/files > Click OK. They'll all be added to one particular slide and then you could work with those inside Storyline.

  • We are working on a project that requires multiple audio files to be uploaded. Is there an update on this feature?

  • So I found a way to upload multiple audio files to the media library. I don't need the slides auto-generated, so this works for me.

For anyone on this tread in the 2020s, you can go to media library, click on 'Video' and then click 'import' in the upper right. Select 'video from file' and you can select multiple videos and import them all at once. You still need to manually place them in the course, but this might save a little time.

Would really like to see this same functionality available when adding videos directly to a slide, and if it exists already for the media library, I don't see why it doesn't work for individual slides.
