Issues with NVDA screen reader and multiple choice questions within Rise 360
Hello SamHill , our original publish was from April 9th, we just republished and the issue seems to be resolved in a publish version, however it still remains in a review and preview version of the course.
Hi NathanViaene-ca,
Great to see Sam has been helping you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble accessibility testing your Rise course with NVDA. I tested the playback of a sample Rise course with a Multiple Choice Question Block, using NVDA. However, the focus never shifted to the Lesson menu. Also, NVDA dictated my answer choice and feedback as expected.
- Here's a quick Peek of how it sounded while previewing the course in Rise.
You mentioned the issue was resolved after republishing, but still appears "in Review and while Previewing". Do you mind clarifying that a bit more? Does the issue occur when testing a Review 360 link, and while previewing, but not when publishing to other formats such as LMS or the Web?
Also, it would be helpful to see a screen recording of the experience on your end. Feel free to upload that here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hey StevenBenassi,
As you correctly interpreted, the issue does not occur when publishing in either Web or LMS. However, when I use a screen reader on a Review 360 link or preview within Rise, the focus will shift towards the side menu. This is only the case when using NVDA as screen reader. You can find a recording here
Hopefully this is of some help for you to find the underlying issue.
Kind regards,

Hi NathanViaene-ca,
Thanks for following up.
I'd like our support engineers to have a closer look at this issue, so I've opened a support case on your behalf. Also, I've sent you an email with steps on how to share the affected Rise course privately, for testing.
You're in excellent hands troubleshooting with our team, and we can continue the conversation through your case!
