Kirkpatrick Eval Examples

Hi. I’m building my first storyline course for corporate and academic clients. I want to include a Kirkpatrick-based evaluation (at least for levels 1 and 2). I might use a likert-scale or emojis with a total of 6-8 questions.

Also, I want to use that same evaluation as a standard but modifiable framework for future courses. Clients need to be able to edit, especially the questions. It needs to be compliant with SCORM, but preferably xAPI.

Other best practices and industry standards?Actual examples? Thanks!

Because you want to use that same evaluation for future courses, and have it editable by the client, you probably don't want to build it in Storyline, unless your clients are going to have their own licenses for the software. You may be better off pursuing a separate survey data tool (Qualtrics, for example) and have full access to the data for a number of uses.

Depending on your LMS, you might also consider building the survey there. In our company, we tried that but found it was actually more limited than we first believed.

So what we do now (as well as other groups within the company) is to include a link on the final screen of the course that offers learners the chance to leave feedback. Here's a typical screen:

The Course Survey button points to the URL for the survey page. In our case, we use Qualtrics so that URL is simply the "end of course survey" that we built there and then published.

    Good luck -
