Lagg when playing inserted audio

Hello,

I have discovered a strange problem, that I want to ask about.

I´m using Storyline 360 and I have discovered that inserted audio (text-to-speech) have a small lag just in the beginning of it, which means that you can't really hear the first syllable. But it only happen at the first text-to-speech-file at a page, or if there is a delay between two files in the middle of the page. If the files are played without delay between them, there are no lag.

But also, it only happens when the output file do the transition "by itself". If the output is setup is such way that the user can jump between slide through the menu, there is no lag (or at least a smaller lag).

As for the lag at the beginning of page, I have tried to delay the playback of the first text-to-speech, up to 2 seconds, but that don't do any difference. And that wouldn't have solved the issue occurring at the middle of the page anyhow.

This happens at all type of way of publish that I have tested, but my gut feeling is that the lag is larger when generating a video compared to when there is more user interactions.

Many thanks!

  • Hello OlleSchlin,

    Happy to help!

This is strange behavior indeed. I haven't encountered this issue before, but I feel the issue might have something to do with either network latency or a problem with the installation. Please try repairing your Storyline 360 installation as a troubleshooting step to see if this fixes the issue. You'll also want to ensure you work locally when creating and editing your Storyline 360 projects.

If the issue persists after the repair, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case to help us recreate the issue for testing. We'll delete it when we're done!

Thanks. I will do that, but I need to ask my IT department, since I don't have any of those privileges.

    Hello,

I have finally been able to solve this problem and it turned out that it had nothing to do with Storyline at all.

If I´m having a wireless transfer of the sound, like Bluetooth, this problem is present, but if I´m having a wired connection, like HDMI, the problem is non-present.

    Thanks for your efforts!
