Length of time to download in Rise
Hello,
I am working on downloading podcast videos (MP4) into micolearning shells. Only one video per shell and the time to upload seems to be extremely long. The videos range in length from 30-60 minutes each and take anywhere from 10-30 minutes to upload and process. The upload and processing time are equally as slow. Is the normal? I don't recall having to ever wait this long for a video of any length to upload and process. Do computer specs have anything to do with this?

Hello Trista,
Happy to help!
As long as your video is less than 5 GB, then the uploading time should depend primarily on your internet speed. If the file size of your videos isn't that large, please upload a copy of it here or in private by opening a case with our support team so we can check how long it would take for the video to upload on our end.

Hello Jose,
I'm restarting this conversation because I'm having the same problem. The video download time is extremely long. Right now I'm trying to download a 16,201 KB mp4 video, it's been almost 10 minutes and it still hasn't loaded. However, I have a good connection (and I had the same problem, connected to different types of networks) ... It's also a shame not to have visibility on the download %. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello SoniaDamerval,
Thanks for reaching out!
As my colleague Jose mentioned, since your video is under 5 GB, this loading lag could be due to internet speeds.
- What browser are you using? Do you experience the same lag in another browser?
- Is this happening with any other MP4 files you are working with or just this one?
We'd be happy to look at your video file and see if we are experiencing the same behavior. You can share the MP4 file in this thread or privately in a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello Luciana,
Thank you for your reply.
I am using Google Chrome, I didn't tried with another one. But I tried with other MP4 files, and it is the same problem, even with audio files. I will reach the support case :)
Thank you again !
Hi, SoniaDamerval!
My teammate, Cleober, reached out to you in your case to continue troubleshooting. We can continue the conversation there!
If anyone is experiencing a similar issue, you may want to start by clearing your browser cache. You can also make a copy of your Rise course, and try publishing that copy. If that works better, simply delete the first version of the course. If that doesn't do the trick, please share your file with our team!
