Link to external site in storyline opening in same window

I have uploaded storyline files into Moodle.   Many of the files have links to external websites in them.  They are set in Storyline to open in a new window.    It works fine in Review 360 however once loaded into Moodle, the links open in the same window and there is no way for the learner to return to the course without restarting.    Any suggestions?

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Kristeen! ⭐️

Sorry you've hit this snag! I'd like to gather a couple more clues so I can help get to the bottom of this:

    • Do you see this behavior in all browsers? Chrome, Firefox, and Edge?
    • Do you have an Open URL/file trigger set to open in a new browser window?

If you could share your file, I'd be happy to test things on my end! You can share it in this discussion or privately here. I'm staying tuned for your response!

I have found that you need to use the browser window next to the link and change it from "default" to one of the options in the drop-down.  Who knew the "default" doesn't do what you think it would. For us, it just makes our course (regardless of the browser) drop to the bottom tray and hide itself.  Changing it to either "full screen" or a "custom size" will allow the course window to stay open behind the thing you have open up.  There are course browser choices in the "player" but there are browser choices for each link too.  See images. I only figured this out yesterday after 3 years or more of this issue and telling learners to check their bottom tray browser windows.  I hope this helps you or someone else...for those who have never solved it yet (I saw lots of threads) and those who run into it in the future.
