Links to files in resources
Hi, Is it possible to have a hyperlink in a slide to a file in the 'resources' section in player?
If not is there a way to link to files without having the issue of storing the file somewhere?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Kind regards,
Ryan

Hello!
I'm experiencing a challenge with this process. When the link to the resource is clicked, the following error message displays. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

</Error> Hi Tarah and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊
Thanks for reaching out and sharing that you are running into a similar issue.
Is this an error that you're seeing after the content is published?
I'd be happy to take a closer look. With your permission, please share your project file. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

Hi Leslie,
I'm curious to know how Tarah was able to fix this problem. I'm facing the same issue on my end, and with the exact same verbiage in the pop up window. I;m currently viewing mine in a review link after having published it.
Thanks for your help and time!
Hello Patrick!
I don't see that we heard back from Tarah. I'd like our Support Engineers to step in and offer their expertise. They're pros at figuring out error messages. You can use this link to connect with a Support Engineer.

Hi all. Was this resolved as I'm getting the same error when the file is published. The files can be accessed via resources but not via a custom link using the correct link: story_content/external_files/filename.pdf (obviously I've put the correct file name in)
Hello Marion!
I'm happy to help! Are you viewing the course on your local hard drive, or is it uploaded on a web server or LMS?
I'd recommend uploading your course to Tempshare to see how the course behaves in a web environment.
If you still see the same behavior, I'd recommend sharing your course with our Support Engineers in a support case. They'll take a look at your project and reply with their findings!

I found that the Resources link must be displayed (selected in the Player settings) for the attachment to be included in the output, so the link works.
If you don't want to have the Resources link displayed on the player, delete the label in the Player settings.
