Scene links
I have created a project with 6 scenes. The problem is there is a black line linking scene 3 to 4 and 5 (as in the image) and there is no triger from scene 3 to lead to either. I am not sure what has happened? I have tried removing the lines but no joy and the slides are stoping at the scene 4 with scene 5 not even playing. What can i do to resolve this issue
- The trigger leading to scenes 4 or 5 could be in any of the slides in scene 3, not only the last slide. So, please check all the slides in scene 3 thoroughly.
- Looking at the linking lines, I assume that the trigger has some condition to it. So, when the condition is met, it will jump to scene 4; otherwise scene 5, or the other way around. In other words, the linking lines suggest that either scene 4 or 5 will play out depending on the condition, not both.

Hi Lindabrown,
It sounds like there might be unintended connections or navigation triggers left behind between scenes, possibly due to copying or dragging elements. In Storyline, those black lines usually represent jump triggers or automatic transitions. Double-check the triggers panel in Scene 3 to ensure no hidden or unused triggers are directing the flow to Scenes 4 or 5. Also, inspect any slide masters or layer triggers that could be affecting navigation.
If that doesn’t work, try creating a new blank slide and manually copying content from the affected scenes (without bringing over triggers), then rebuild the transitions to ensure they only go where you intend. This can help eliminate any lingering connections or corrupted links.
