Making a scroll bar keyboard accessible

Hello,

I am working to make an online training developed in Articulate Storyline keyboard-accessible. I can't seem to figure out how to make a layer with a scroll bar keyboard accessible, so that users can read all the text. Is there a way to do this or do I have to set up a work-around?

Thanks!

Ana

Same question here: are scrolling panels with text now keyboard accessible?

Actually, I just found the (disappointing) answer in this other forum, which states:

Scrolling Panels aren't currently keyboard accessible. This is a bug that our team has logged and working to release a fix. When I have more information on the release, I'll share here!

  • Hello Mhairi!

We released a fix in June 2020 for the bug where scrolling panels weren't keyboard accessible.

Scrolling panels are now keyboard accessible! Let me know if you have any questions.

Lauren, besides keyboard controlled scrolling, I have a question about a scrolling panel's content being accessible. For example, I assume an image might not be for non-sighted learners, but would a text box or shape with text be read with a screen reader for them? If so, I assume the entire box regardless of just where the scroll position is. Hope this is clear :)

    Hello,

Just to mention how it is accessible: you have to tab on it and then it has focus, you can use the up/down arrows or the page up/down keys (faster) to scroll.

  • Hi Douglas,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I see that you've opened a support case and that you're working with my colleague Johnrey. You're in great hands!

We'll continue the conversation over in your support case.

    Have a wonderful afternoon!
