Matching dropdown slide not resetting via "restart course" trigger
I've seen this discussed in another post on the site, but nothing is working for me.
I have a dropdown matching slide, and on the "incorrect" feedback layer, the request is to have two buttons on the incorrect feedback layer - one to try again, and another to show a static slide that displays the correct answers. I've attached a "restart course" trigger to the try again button.
The restart course trigger reloads the first slide, but all the previously-selected answers are still visible in the dropdown fields. Restarting does not reset the dropdowns to display "--Select--"
I have the matching slide properties set to "Reset to initial state" and I've tried the restart course trigger AND the jump to slide trigger. I cannot find anything that will fully reset that slide.
And yes, my Storyline 360 app is fully up to date. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm unsure if this is the same issue I ran into on a course last year, but my solution ended up being to use a JumpTo trigger sending the learner back to the beginning, and then a Reset Results When the Timeline Starts of the slide I send them back to. For me it's a Quiz Instructions slide but for you I assume it would be the first question. I think the results slide is actually the one that retains the chosen answers in a way.

Thank you Andrew - part of the challenge is that I'm not using a results slide, so the reset results trigger isn't an option as there's nothing to assign it to. It's just a single matching/dropdown slide with correct/incorrect feedback layers. Thus, even the "jump to" trigger is simply jumping back to the start of the timeline on this same slide, but it's not resetting the selected answers.
Can you share the project? If you are confident you have it triggered properly, I recommend submitting a case -

I gave this a try and for me the resetting of the slide seems to work if you jump to a different slide before returning to the question. How about you add a slide that redirects the user to the question as soon as you jump there? If you make it look exactly like the question, the user also won't be able to see that this is what is happening.

This rings a bell for me with one of my prior projects too, great thinking!

Yes! This worked. I created a blank slide with a trigger that sends the user back to the matching slide as soon as the timeline starts. I don't think I would have figured this out, left to my own devices. I guess I just expect the basic triggers to work as expected.
Thank you again!- LisaK-b221f671-Community Member
