Math equations in RISE
What are your recommendations for creating accessible math equations in RISE content? We need these to be accessible to students using screenreaders. Can we input MathJax/ML etc into RISE? Or is the only option to add each equation as an image with alt text description or maybe create a Word document with these equations, both of which are very time consuming. Please advise as we'd like to continue building in RISE, but need to ensure that these are accessible for users.
Hello everyone, 🎉
I’m happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360. This update adds the following feature:
- Build math equations using LaTeX syntax and revise them by adding color and alt text.
There’s nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to publish your Rise 360 course again.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the new feature.

Interesting note on this feature, the text editor that Rise uses is called Froala, it has a 3rd party plugin with this functionality. Some info here https://froala.com/wysiwyg-editor/examples/wiris/
This makes me think the functionality already exists but might be a matter of licensing it.And 2 days ago the TinyMCE editor also added this functionality, looks more of a native integration. https://www.tiny.cloud/tinymce/features/math-equations/

This whole math equation editor is a real bummer. I see tons of requests over the last 5 plus years and no movement.

It's been 6 years...no progress

Seven years later, and we're still the same. Is it really that hard to implement this functionality?"

Plus one for us as well, this is needed for accessibility needs as soon as possible! Any update?
Hi MarianeTremblay!
Thanks for checking in on this!
Support for mathematical equations in Rise 360 is currently on our Feature Roadmap, and coming soon!

StevenBenassi-- Hi, just to clarify: the description in the link you provided says, "Build math equations using LaTeX syntax and revise them by adding color and alt text, all within Storyline 360." But then, to the right, it lists both Storyline 360 and Rise 360 as the apps.
Because if this is really, finally happening -- after these many years of user requests -- this is HUGE news!
