Microsoft Azure Information Protection

I have a problem when publishing to Word.  My company uses Microsoft Azure Information Protection (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/solutions/information-protection/) to classify documents for data protection legislation.

Previously, when I published to Word, after the normal Publish dialog completed its "Publishing x of y" process, Storyline would stop and a pop-up dialog from Microsoft would ask me to pick what classification to give the new Word document (it would be in the background, I would have to Alt+Tab to the pop-up).  After selecting, Storyline would continue to the "Publish Successful" window.

But following the latest Microsoft Office update, Storyline no longer stops, and I don't get to select the classification.  But the destination folder is completely empty, no publish folder and no document.  Publish to LMS works perfectly.

It must be a change of setting or an update from Microsoft - I'm not suggesting it is Storyline.  I was just wondering if there was a possible work-around.  For example where are the temporary files stored?

Windows 10 21H2 64-bit
StoryLine 3 update 18

  • Hi Colin,

I'm not familiar with Microsoft Azure, and the quick search I did on it didn't give me a lot of information on how to troubleshoot this issue. I agree with you on the possibility that it's a setting with Microsoft. Have you checked in with Microsoft to see if they have any suggestions?

    Thanks for reaching out!
