Mobile Interaction Problems on Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet

I have a course that I designed with several slider interactions.  The interactions work fine on a desktop/laptop PC, and it works perfectly on I-phones and I-Pads.  I have some users who are using Microsoft Surface Pro Tablets and they cannot get the slider interactions to work.  I have made sure that there are using the device in tablet mode (and tried laptop mode) but still no success.

Has anyone had any issues with MS Surface devices?  Any thoughts?

  • Hi everyone,

I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 77, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the bugs we've fixed is:

    • Sliders and dials didn't work on touchscreen devices.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!

    Hi John!

I see that you are currently working with one of our Support Engineer’s, Ronaziel. You’re in great hands. We’ll continue the conversation in your support case.

John, did you find an answer to the issues on the Microsoft Surface? We are also getting reports of problems with sliders and dials in Surface testing. The same interactions work great on laptop, iOS, and Android.

  • Hi, Jay!

Thanks for reaching out here. I took a look at John's case and saw that him and Rona identified it as a possible bug where the drag and drop or slider interactions aren't behaving as expected when using a touchscreen device. This has been reported to our team and they'll investigate as a next step.

As soon as we have additional information to share, we'll be certain to update this discussion, but at this time I don't have a timeline for when that'll be.

I do see noted, that setting the player to "Lock player at optimal size" allowed for the drag and drops to work as expected. Are you able to give that a try and let us know how it works?

Was there any further information in relation to this? I believe we are experiencing the same issue.

Sorry to hear you're having a similar issue, Stacey!

Could I have you share more clues in a support case? If you could provide more clarification of what your experiencing, this will help us determine if it's specific to your file or related to a possible bug.

As soon as we hear from you, we'll reach out with the next step!

  • Hello everyone!

Popping in to share that we are no longer seeing the issue with Drag and Drop interaction via Touch Screen on Surface Pro when testing with a Surface Pro 7 and the latest update of Storyline 360, which is Build 3.61.27106.0.

If you run into another issue using the latest update of Storyline 360, please reach out to our support team directly here.
