Moving and resizing a video in storyline

Hi

Is it possible to move and resize a video in storyline?

What i am trying to do is have a video of a tutor explaining something on screen. When the video gets to a set point I would like to shrink the video and move it into a corner so I can put a diagram etc on screen.

Is this something that can be done? If so, can someone give me an idea how to do it - i have found a trigger to move the video along  a motion path but not to resize

Thanks

Ian

  • You won't be able to resize it unless there is a javascript solution

What if you created 2 videos from the single video, the first being the full-sized narration which runs to the point where it will need to become the postage-stamp video, the second video is the postage-stamp video. In other words, Video #1's out-point is Video #2's in-point.

Fade out Video #1, fade in the diagram and Video #2, and skip the shrink effect altogether.

    • Hello Sue Yeo,

      Happy to help!

If you're trying to modify your video but the editing tool you need isn't available in Storyline 360, you can download and install a tool called Handbrake instead. Handbrake can re-encode and resize videos among other things and is a helpful video editing tool to have. If this isn't what you meant by transforming videos, can you provide us with more details regarding what you're trying to accomplish so we can better assist you?

        Hi Joe.....Appreciate you following up!
I meant to be helpful by saying it is possible to resize the video via Adobe Premiere.
Resize it via Sequence; Then, click the Video Effects > Distort > Transform > Position

Thats a simple but really good solution I had not thought of Joseph  - thank you

Isn't what you're asking gfor just Replay? https://articulate.com/360/replay - you probably already have the tool for it. You don't need an editor, a video compressor, any of it. That's what Replay does.
