Moving objects manually in motion path

Does anyone know if it is possible to move an object manually in a motion path? I have a scroll bar I created, and want the user to move the scroll bar from point a to point b. I tried creating two rectangles and a trigger that sends the user to the next slide when the first rectangle enters the second rectangle. While this works, it doesn't provide a straight path for the rectangle's movement. I then tried adding a motion path, but I can't manually control the objects movement along the path. I did see the slider option, but I couldn't figure out how to make the thumb look like a scroll bar. FYI, the slide in question is slide 2.
