Multi-column Designs

Right now Rise is a single column design tool where you add new blocks directly below existing content to form a single column of blocks. Are there plans to allow double or triple column designs so you can have side-by-side (multiple column) elements in landscape that rearrange to single column in portrait on a phone?

I think the design interface would show the + marks both below and to the right of existing content so you could build out either way. Just a thought.

  • This would be a nice feature... though in 3 years from the first request, I don't see it yet... Any hacks?

  • I have been working quite a bit with CSS on websites. I really would love to style Rise in a similar fashion with columns to condense some of the information to one line. This gives multiple advantages as already stated above. I am currently trying to create a horizontal line that would be split into 3 columns containing  (Button, Header, Button). However, can not seem to find a way to do this. The closest I can get is the Tab Block, however that is not the functionality I would like as the middle tab would still be clickable. Additionally, the tab design is not ideal for what I am working with.

3 years of waiting for such a powerful and design-changing feature. I am surprised this is still an issue after the requests here and the amount of others I have found while searching for a fix.

        Hi Sarah,

Adding bullets to a two column text block is currently possible as shown in my example above.

  • Hi Christa!

You can use PowerPoint (or any image editing tool) to position two images side-by-side before importing them into a Rise 360 labeled graphic block. Here's how:

    • Open PowerPoint.
    • Insert the first image on the left side of the PowerPoint slide. Scale up the image until it fills the height of the slide.
    • Insert the second image on the right side of the PowerPoint slide. Scale up the image until it fills the height of the slide.
    • Save the PPT file as a PNG image.
    • Upload the image to the labeled graphic block.

After following those steps, it will look like you have two columns for a labeled graphic block!

  • Two columns would be really helpful as well as the possibility to align blocks to the left, center or right.

      Hi Jennie,

Text block has the Two column block.

Gallery blocks have two-, three- and four-column image blocks.

Don't any of those work for you?

Thank you for the reply. I would like to sometimes combine a movie to the right with a textblock to the left, side by side, for instance, is that possible?

  • Hi

We were hoping to change the index page to a 2 column feature as well. It would be really helpful for the content we have created to list it side-by-side, instead of one topic listed with the next topic beneath.

Can you let all users know if you eventually make this possible?

    Many thanks.

      Hi Sarah,

We have a few blocks that can make your course appear as two columns.  For example, we have a Two-Column Text block and an Image & Text Image block.  If these options won't work, can you elaborate more on your specific need?

        Hi,

Thanks heaps for getting back to me, I really appreciate it.

We have created a course on Rise and after you click the 'start here'
button and get to the index page we have used a button stack feature to
create the index content. However, the person I've built this for would
prefer to have the content as 2 columns, one with lessons, the other with
vocabulary builder. Currently, they are stacked one on top of the other,
i attached a screenshot to help you see the issue..

Is there any way I can edit this page to put lessons in the left column and
vocab builders on the right or is there no way around it?

        Many thanks in advance,

        Sarah
