Navigation in courses - User Specific
I am going to take another look and try again and download the sample file you had sent, the last time it showed up as corrupted. I have a new work laptop and it has been issue after issue. Thanks for the guidance, Judy !
I don't have any trouble opening the file when I download it from the post. I suggest you try again. If it doesn't work, try again with a different browser.
As per Articulate guidance, be sure it's on your local drive. (Opening a .story file over a network can corrupt the file due to network lag.)
There's also a link to the published file in Review (https://360.articulate.com/review/content/f077476d-6c7d-4b83-a83d-4b1213a1ddee/review ). The slides explain the programming, so viewing that published version might help.

I was able to get the file and it seems helpful but I am having trouble trying to figure out what kind of variable it is, and then storyboarding hundreds of slides with preset navigation triggers. It's a software simulation so it is many slides with almost the same screen and taxxing to manage. Is it a true false variable? Is there one variable made for PATH and then different numbers assigned to it?

For the demo that allows only one choice/path/role, I used a number variable to track which path was chosen. This is explained on the first slide of that scene:
And, yes, the more slides and the more potential paths involved, the more complex the triggers will be to manage. If there's a series of slides that don't diverge, then the Next button can simply jump to the Next slide. But wherever the paths diverge, the Next button needs special triggers with conditions to jump to what's next for each path.
As the demo file says, it's a good idea to storyboard all the paths. For example, here's the paths from my choose-1-option demo:
The demo file contains the detailed instructions. You might want to keep the published version open as a reference when you work on your project.

I appreciate additional feedback. I think I was a bit confused about PATH and I feel like I HAVE IT then I try to apply to my project and am lost, likely because the complexity. I also think it throws me off because when I add the "reference" variable path and set it as a number... a number appears on my screen.
