By default, Storyline's drag-and-drop interaction does not return its objects to their initial location. You can approach this with one of the suggestions below:
- Using a motion path to return items to their original places. Here's a Peek 360 recording.
- Setting the slides to Reset to Initial State when revisiting, you can use a variable to count the number of attempts. Here's a discussion with some tips on how to do this, and another one with a sample project.

Thank you very much for this great information. I didn't know motion paths could be used to reset a timeline as you described. The video was extremely helpful. I would not have figured this out on my own. What a lifesaver - again, thank you!
