NEW IN RISE 360: Closed Captioning
Can closed Captions be added to Audio files also?

Seconding this request. Would be nice to have captions with MP3 audio blocks. Not sure we can call those compliant otherwise.

Hi Darren,
Closed captions will appear only when the learner selects a caption language from the CC button. There isn't a way to turn the captions on by default.
Also, closed captions can be added to videos only, not to audio.

When will CC be available for audio?

I'd like to submit a feature request that CC is possible for audio blocks in Rise 360. How do I do that?

Hi there, Cindy. I'm sorry we weren't more clear. When you click to edit a video block, click Edit again next to the video file you've added, and you'll see the option to manage your captions:
And thanks for letting us know that you'd like to see closed captions for audio blocks, too! I'll make sure your voice is counted. In the meantime, folks have added a text transcript of their audio using a text or accordion block. I hope that helps!

Is captioning for audio in the works? I don't see it on the feature road map. But we're not able to use the audio media type blocks from a WCAG standpoint.

Hi Mike! Thanks for letting us know you need this feature.
As a workaround, for now, I can suggest using an accordion block with the text transcription of the audio below the audio block.
We're still tracking requests for closed captioning for audio, and we'll update this thread if we have news for you all!
