NEW IN STORYLINE 360: Review and Retry Incorrect Questions
Last week we announced an exciting new batch of features for Articulate 360. And today we released one of those new features for Storyline 360: review and retry incorrect questions.
Now you can challenge learners to review and retry only the questions in your quizzes that they got wrong. That way, they don’t have to revisit the questions they get right.
Here’s a quick example of this feature in action:

Enjoy!

I am having an issue where the first question is repeated even if the user gets the question correct. I have reset results set to reset only incorrect questions. I have the results slide hidden because this is a part of a card sort activity. If a user gets a card wrong, it is basically "shuffled" back in the deck and the user has to do it again.
Hi there, Sonja! Thanks for the screenshot of your triggers. I'm curious about your overall setup; it sounds really creative! Would you be able to share your entire .story file with us so we can help?

Hi Sonja,
Thanks for sharing your file here with us! I've been testing it backward and forwards, and although I found a few things that needed tweaking your file is still not behaving as expected. The first card continues to show even when I answered it correctly as you noted.
Here are the things I fixed so far:
- The retry button was there but had no triggers associated with it per the directions here. I added that to only show on Failure layer to ensure that it was being set
- I made a trigger to show the failure layer, based on the learners' score and set the "Jump to slide" on that layer. This was done to ensure the reset results was executing correctly.
- I tried moving the first question later into the quiz, and the new first question still showed upon a retry even if it was answered correctly.
I also tested this on a brand new file, and everything was working correctly there, so I'm opening a Support case with our team to take a look. They'll be in touch soon, and I attached your file which I modified in case you'd like to take a look in the meantime.

I'm also running into the same issue where the first question is repeated even if the learner answers it correctly on the first pass. On the Retry button, I've set the first trigger to reset the quiz results, with the box checked for "Reset only incorrect questions;" then I added a second trigger to jump to the first quiz question. I also tried setting the second trigger to jump to the slide before the first question, but I'm still forced to revisit the first quiz question.
Will the response from Sonja's support case be posted here or should I submit a separate support case? Thanks for your help.
Hi there, Sandy. It looks like Sonja's file might have had a corrupted element in it. When we imported the slides into a new file, it did the trick for us. I'll let Sonja confirm if our new version works for her.
Since that is a pretty specific problem, I'd agree with you that getting into a case is a great idea. You can reach our team here!

Me and another designer at my company did this by scratch and then showed Articulate how to do this. You're welcome :).

Hi,
I'm having issues with getting my drag and drop to score in the quiz. The correct response comes up when all correct items are dropped on the correct drop target but when reviewing the quiz it comes up as incorrect and I don't believe the results page is seeing it as correct. Can you or someone else on the staff help?- WendyFarmerSuper Hero
Hi Kellie
is the slide revisit option set to 'reset to initial state' that may be why it's showing as incorrect - try automatically decide - also is it checked on the results slide to be included?. If you can share the story file someone may be able to help you.

I had the same problem. My slides were set to "reset to initial state" and it was solved by setting it to "automatically decide". But if you want to use a custom build slide, I think it is nessecary to reset a slide too. So this should work no matter which of these 2 settings you choose.
FYI: I used a questionbank and tested with 80% pass score, 3 questions to be drawn from 15 questions. First time I got 1 right (not the first slide) > 33% correct. Second time got another one right (first slide) > 66% correct BUT after retrying had both slides again like after the first try.

Hi Soliman!
We added that feature in Storyline 360 Update 23, and we're now on Update 24!
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Here's how.
Hi Susi,
Thanks for sharing those details. I'd like one of our support engineers to take a look at your project file.
I've opened a support case on your behalf.
Thank you!

Does this still require the quiz questions to be daisy chained, or can I distribute those across a scene or even the whole project? I have previously abandoned using the review feature, because people are thrown to the first question, but then they have to wade through the rest of the course to find question #2, unless all questions are in succession.
Hey Soren!
The quiz questions can be separated by content slides and placed in separate scenes. The Review/Retry incorrect questions only feature will direct the learner to the incorrect question slides only and skip content slides.
