No Audio in Storyline on Resume
Hello all! I created a course in Storyline, but when I publish to our LMS, if the user has to resume, the audio does not play on the resumed slide. I selected "Resume saved state" in the settings for slide properties, "Always resume" in the player, and the user selects "Next" to advance slides. Does anyone know what else I need to do? Thank you!

Double-check the Slide Properties, the Slide Layer Properties, and the triggers. Because if I set up a slide in either of the ways I described above, the audio replays when the user revisits the slide.
If you still can't get it to work, well, troubleshooting is just guessing without seeing all the programming. Someone might be able to solve the issue if you upload the .story file. Here are the best practices for doing that:
- Only include slides that are related to the problem.
- Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
- If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.

Desperately seeking solution. I publish to LMS and if the user has to resume, the audio does not play on the resumed slide. I selected "Resume saved state" in the settings for slide properties. "Always resume" in the player. I tries the steps that JudyNollet suggested but to no avail. Has anyone been able to find a solution. I'm on latest version 3.98.

As per my initial response (screenshot below for convenience), audio won't replay if the properties are "Resume saved state."
- If the audio is on the base, the Slide Properties should be "Reset to initial state."
- If the audio is on a layer above the base, the Slide Layer Properties should be "Reset to initial state."

Hi! Thank you for your help!
I just went in and tried that, and the audio is still not playing on the resumed slide. If I select next, and then previous, it will pay the audio, but just resuming the slide, it will not play the audio on the slide that is resuming.
What else can I try?

No Audio in Storyline on Resume - Anjanette, were you able to resolve this issue. I've tried everything and still unable to get audio to play on resume. This has been marked as Solved but still unsolved for me.

Hi BillDeConcini-a,
I'm happy to help!
It appears Anjanette's issue was related to a software bug where audio doesn't play automatically when player settings is set to Always Resume on Restart when the user closes then relaunches the course in LMS. As a workaround, we suggest setting the resume behavior to Prompt to Resume.
To determine if your file is affected by this bug, we'd want to take a look at your file to confirm. You can share it here or upload it privately in a case, and we'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!

"Resume saved state" means the slide will resume wherever the user left off in the Timeline. Thus, if they listen to the audio, leave the slide, and revisit the slide, the audio won't play again.
If you want the audio to always replay and to reset the objects back to their initial state, set the Slide Properties to "Reset to initial state."
If you want to resume the state of objects but have the audio replay, do this:
- Set the Slide Properties to "Resume saved state."
- Put the audio on a layer. Set the Slide Layer Properties to "Reset to Initial state." Add a trigger that hides the layer when the layer's timeline ends.
- Add a "show layer __ when the timeline starts on this slide" trigger on the base. (Weird but true: a "when the timeline starts on this slide" trigger runs every time the user visits the slide—even if it is set to "Resume saved state."
