Paste in Place

Hi! I had the same problem and managed to fix it by changing the keyboard shortcut that used the same keys in SnagIt.
You can make this change in SnagIt's screenshot preferences in the Hotkeys tab. These are the keys for Video Capture - Open and Exit Drawing mode. I changed it to Ctrl+Alt+D.
Changing the Snagit hotkey fixed this problem for me. Thanks for the solution!
