Picture fill on grouped shapes

Am I missing something? When I group some shapes and then go to format shapes and select Picture or Texture fill, it fills each shape separately...it does not spread the one image out and allow the ...

Ok. Is there a way to merge them into a single shape to mask out an image / video?

I'm happy to share that we have a Merge Shape feature currently logged as a feature request! I've included your voice in the report and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap!
