Player Tab Order and Quiz Slide Layers Tab Order Restrictions
Hello there!
I have two issues that I could really use some guidance on. I am building a course with a 10-questions assessment at the end. I am attempting to create logical tab order for visual focus - 508 compliance. I have reworked the tab order for each base quiz slide and I have turned off objects I don't want visible to accessibility tools; however, I am not able to manipulate the latter on the "Correct" or "Incorrect" question slide layers. When pulling them up using the tab order feature, I can move the position of an object on these layers up or down, but I can NOT delete anything (such as "Line 5" that appears in the dialogue boxes of each and is picked up by screen readers and tabbing).
As a result, when tabbing through the slides during preview mode, issues encountered include:
Tabbing through the base question slide is fine - no issues. But, when the question is submitted and the correct/incorrect slide layer pops up, the tabbing jumps from the slide to the player and cycles through the player (twice) before returning to the slide layer. Everything, including the "rectangle" shape and "Line 5" of the dialogue box are tabbed through before reaching the "Continue" button. So...
1. How do I turn off objects that appear to be restricted from editing (rectangle; Line 5) on the quiz slide layers?
2. How can I redirect the tab order to stay on the slide and read the question result (Correct or Incorrect) before jumping to the player tabs?
And/OR
3. How can I keep the tabs from cycling through the player twice before returning to the actual slide?
I have attached one of the slides for review.
Thanks in advance!

OK, as soon as I posted the above inquiry, I remembered the "Feedback" slide master and that I could probably manipulate it to accomplish what I need to do. I was right...worked like a charm! This resolved issues related to question #1, but I still need assistance with questions #2 and/or #3, please.
Thank you!

Hi Margaret,
Could you explain what you did on the feedback slide master that worked like a charm? I can't see anything relevant there.
Hi Margaret,
Thanks for reaching out here and letting us know that you were able to fix the issue you detailed in option 1. As for options 2 and 3 that you needed assistance with, it seems that you're describing the scenario I discussed with Keith in this thread just last week. As I mentioned I reported it to our QA team, so it's currently in their hands but I don't have any other information to share at this time, nor am I able to offer at timeframe in regards to a workaround. I'll include this thread in the report that I filed with our team so that once there is information to share I can include an update here for you.

Thanks, Ashley, for the prompt reply and thank you for the link to Keith's inquiry regarding the same issue. I look forward to hearing back from you and your team. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved before my project's due date.
...fingers crossed! :-)Thanks, again.
Hi Margaret,
I'll certainly keep you posted - but since I can't offer a timeframe, I'd look at implementing one of those workarounds I mentioned just to ensure users have a way to proceed or know what to expect.

Any updates on this?
Hi Matt,
This issue is still with our QA team in terms of how the Tab order is not respected on feedback layers.

Not wanting to sound repetitive, but has this been resolved?
Hey Matthew. Don't worry about sounding repetitive! When you comment on a discussion, you'll be subscribed to it. That's a good thing because if we post an update, you'll be notified.
We don't have a resolution on this issue at this time, but thanks for coming in to check.

I'm very new to this so please excuse my low-level questions. Ashley mentioned creating a custom feedback layer in another thread as the workaround. So you're saying to create new correct and incorrect layers and delete the original layers and these new ones will work?
Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for reaching out here and I found the discussion here that you referenced as well. It does seem that it's the built in feedback layers which were causing the difficulty, so if you created your own feedback layers and removed the existing ones you could then control the tab order more fully. This would also mean that you'd need to set up triggers to show each layer and how to advance to them based on next steps for the user. So the other option would be to provide directions to the users in terms of how the feedback layers are going to work with this set up which is to instruct users to use "Shift+Tab" to select continue.
