Poll: How do you use the background audio feature?
Hiya Heroes.
I just discovered that the Background Audio does not obey the Player, meaning Background Audio is not really attached to your project in any way and does not pause when you pause your project.
So you could be watching a project, click pause cuz you gotta go grab something...and you'll just keep hearing the music. And that music will end before the project does and you're left with a silent back half.
So I'm curious how have you utilized the Background Audio in your STL project?
This applies to WEB/SCORM outputs. Not Video Output.

Hi KathleenSaunder I think they would have made it behave like that as it has to be independent of the main timeline. Otherwise, when the timeline ends, the BG audio would also have to end. It would be possible to attach an event to the Play/Pause button to control the audio, but would quickly become confusing in the following situation:
- BG audio is playing and the main timeline of the slide reaches the end. BG audio continues to play.
- Your colleagues are having a 80s style dance-off in the kitchen and you just have to go and join in.
- You want to stop the background audio, so you hit the the player play/pause button.
- As the timeline had ended, you've just restarted the slide.
For this to work, the BG audio would have to stop when the timeline stopped on the player. This is the reason it's not linked. I think you just have to use the mute audio button, which does work with BG audio.
Hope that helps understand the rationale.
