Presenter PowerPoint Narration Audio

This is the first time that I've used Presenter. Someone sent me over a PPT with Narration. I got the narration to work in PPT Slideshow View after changing the animation.

When I go to  the Articulate tab > Preview or Publish, I don't hear the narration. I don't want to have to save the audio file and import it. I'm sure I'm missing something really basic.

  • Alyssa,

Thanks for the reference. It doesn't look like any of the items apply to my issue. I opened up a support case.

My guess is that it's some silly setting that I'm forgetting to use. I can always import into SL360 but I'm experimenting with a new workflow process with a SME.

  • Nope, it wasn't me. According to support, Presenter 360 doesn't support audio that's been recorded or imported in PPT. That seems a bit odd but so be it.

They sent me a link to a program  (https://articulate.com/support/article/PowerPoint-Audio-Isn-t-Supported-in-Articulate-Presenter-360) that can possibly extract the audio but I was hoping to avoid having to extract and import the audio. Using Presenter isn't going to be a viable option for an efficient workflow.

Good news is that I can still import the  PPT slides and audio into SL 360 and work from there.

  • Thanks for reaching out to the support team Mike. I'm glad they were able to help you out, even if it was not the answer you were hoping for.

I appreciate you sharing the documentation with the community and how you chose to work around this as well.

  • Is there a trick to importing the PPT slides with narration/audio into Storyline 360? I've confirmed that audio plays in PowerPoint slide show view, but when I import to Storyline, the audio seems to be missing.

    Thank you for your help!

      Hi Shannon!

Individual slide audio is imported to Storyline 360 from PowerPoint, but playlists will not as they are not supported within Storyline.

Have you tried exporting the audio from PowerPoint and importing it into Storyline 360?
