has anyone had this experience, I have been importing .png files, thousands of them across multiple modules... and right now I have used the same file on multiple slides. Then the product kept crashing. Now it is saying .png format is not supported.

I'm sorry you're running into this issue! I haven't come across other instances of this error.
Storyline supports PNG files, but if the images aren't saved locally when you import them, it could cause some erratic behavior. Have you tried using that image file in a blank project to see if similar behavior appears?
