PowerPoint Import Crashing since installing StoryLine 360 June 2025 Update
Since installing the June 17 2025 Update to StoryLine 360, I'm getting crashes importing PowerPoint files, even ones that worked 2 weeks ago. I have confirmed with a colleague who has the same problem.
I have created a blank PowerPoint with just a few slides with images and it imports fine. But more complex PowerPoint files that imported fine a few weeks ago, show the slides to import, but then crash when performing the import; even if I select only a few slides.
Does anyone else have a problem with PowerPoint import?
Colin
Hi Everyone!
Sorry to hear you've encountered this issue when importing PowerPoint content to Storyline!
I see that you have all connected with our support engineers, who confirmed this behavior was related to a bug in Storyline version 3.101.34880.0. I'm happy to share we just released a new update for Storyline, which includes a fix for this bug.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions, here.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this update, or the issue you reported!

I am experiencing the same problem after installing the most recent Storyline 360 update. I cannot import PowerPoint files currently.

My colleague has just rolled back his version, and the same PowerPoint that failed this morning, is now working. There is definitely an issue with the June 2025 release IMHO.

I can confirm this. Rolling back to the May 27 release fixes the problem. I've raised a support case.

I experienced the same issue, so rolled back to the previous version of Storyline 360 (May 27 2025: Build 3.100.34725.0).
This fixed the issue and Import of PowerPoint now works again. I've raised a support case. - MarieSeitzCommunity Member
Same here - I hope it's fixed soon.
Hi everyone,
Thank you for submitting a support case with our team!
I'd like to share an update regarding the issue. This is also for the benefit of other community members who may be seeing the same problem with PowerPoint import and have stumbled upon this thread.
Our product team is now actively working on a fix, and we'll update this discussion once it is available. For now, the workaround is to downgrade to Storyline 360, Build 100.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.

There's now a June 24 2025 version that fixes the issue. Thank you for the extremely quick fix, and I have to say how easy it was to roll back to an earlier version to allow me to continue working!
Well done articulate!

Seconded. Less than a week from the issue being reported to a fix being released is impressive.

Hi everyone,
sadly the latest Storyline update, July 22, 2025 (Build 3.102.35072.0), "broke" again the PowerPoint importing feature which was working until Build 3.101.34961.0 .

Thanks Luca, I think I'll skip that update. It's probably worth raising a support incident. If I remember correctly, when you revert back to a previous version it automatically prompts you to raise a ticket stating why you're rolling back.

Having major issues (this week July 2025). Cannot import PPTx to Storyline 360. Tried all the suggested solutions. All systems, software, apps etc updated; correct format; no passwords etc. Reading this entry so roll back a few updates. Still not working. Had no issues at all three months ago, anyone else? I should add that I am working on Parrallels, on MacBook Pro (2024). All is updated and am importing the files FROM the PC side, NOT from the Mac files. Please would appreciate a fix or advice from anyone, have a lot of work and already a few days behind. Cannot even copy over the master from the PPT to the Master Storyline file. Crazy. Otherwise will need to find a different platform. Fast.

All I can say is that, on a Windows PC, at least 3 people have said that PowerPoint import works as expected on version May 27 2025: Build 3.100.34725.0.
The June 17 2025: Build 3.101.34880.0 had a problem, which was fixed with the June 24, 2025: Build 3.101.34925.0 - this is the version I'm using and PowerPoint import is working.
I have had issues in the past with very complex PowerPoint files, with lots of of animations on a slide. Try a simple, plain, 1 slide PPT. I've never use Parallels so I can't offer any advice there. I'm sorry to hear you're still facing issues, importing from PowerPoint to Storyline!
I see that you've already opened a support case that's been received by our senior support engineers. You're in great hands troubleshooting with them, and they should be connecting with you via e-mail, shortly!

I am having trouble importing Powerpoint slides - I'm on Storyline v.3.103.35301.0... any advice as to how i get this fixed??
Hi PatriciadeSouza,
I'm happy to help!
I tested importing a PowerPoint file into Storyline 360, version 3.103.35301.0. The file loaded successfully without any issues. Are you seeing an error message? If so, please see these possible reasons.
If it's still not working, it'd be helpful to learn if this happens with multiple .ppt files, and if it persists in a new Storyline file as well. If that's the case, please try a Storyline repair and let us know if you need help!

Same issue with the latest (August 2025) update. Rolled back to May and it is importing PowerPoint again.
- ColinDavisCommunity Member
I've just imported 2 PowerPoint files using the August 2025 version of Storyline, with no problem.
Hi, AndyLangmuir!
I see you connected with my teammate, Mcgem. It looks like they emailed you troubleshooting steps on September 8th. Please let Mcgem know if you still need assistance, and they'll be happy to help!
