Hi, Ida,

I suggest you use the built-in "Try Again" functionality. In QUESTION TOOLS > DESIGN, if you set the Attempts to >1, Storyline will automatically add a "Try Again" layer that prompts the user to re-answer the question. 

  • If you set Attempts to a specific number, Storyline will show the default Incorrect layer if the user doesn't answer the question correctly in that many attempts. 
  • If you set Attempts to "Unlimited," Storyline won't let the user advance until they answer the question correctly.

By the way, it is possible to show different feedback on the "Try Again" layer based on the number of attempts. This post has information about that:
