Quiz need help

Hello,

I have a client whose current learning is set up in an LMS. It consists of a built in LMS quiz to test out of the application. Users have complained of the experience. I want to rebuild the training by incorporating the test out quiz into articulate. My user story is I want to be able to test out of the training up front and produce reporting to ensure compliance. If I don't pass then I will have to retake the training.

Looking for some pro tips on branching sequences and triggers that will allow me to meet these requirements. T

Goal Recap

I want to:

  1. Let users take a test-out quiz at the beginning.
  2. If they pass, they skip the training.
  3. If they fail, they are routed into the full training.
  4. LMS must track completion and quiz results for compliance

  • Hi Kelly,

Here's how I would approach it:

    1. Create a quiz and results slide (Scene 1)
    2. Create buttons on the Success and Failure layers of the Results slide.
    3. Create a trigger for the button on the Success slide to go to Scene 2.
    4. Create a trigger for the button on the Failure slide to go to Scene 3.
    5. Create Scene 2 as the "Congratulations, you're done" scene with a button to Exit the course.
    6. Create Scenes 3-? as the required training.
    7. If you use other quizzes, knowledge checks, etc., go to the Publishing settings when publishing and see if you can set two options for completing the course: 1) passing the first pre-test, or 2) viewing the training slides. Or, if you want them to take the test again after the training, create a trigger to jump back to Scene 1 and only allow course completion upon passing the pre-test.

  • I like what KendalRasnake-1 has put together. We normally have our opening slide and any other admin slides. Then we put a slide in to explain the testing and have a trigger that will take them to the test. If they pass, there are triggers to mark the learning complete. If they don't pass, there is a trigger to send them to the slide to start the learning.

As stated by Kendal, Articulate will only report completed and will not report a score. Normally if you want a score, you may need to make your test in the LMS.

    Good luck.
