Recover file?
This may be helpful for someone else who has a computer freeze. The file save was not a slam dunk, but it was done. My workaround took some jiggling of parts. Like the others with a tale of woe, I have a similar story. I updated Storyline this evening and opened a project. About ten minutes into the session, Storyline froze, and I had not yet saved my work. I researched, read the posts, and watched the linked video that Vince Scoma posted six years ago. If his post is gone, here is the video on how to locate temporary files: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/c1a9921d-71c3-409f-8e8e-016241be74db/review
When I found my tmp file, I couldn't copy and move it to my desktop because the same file was open and frozen on my computer! Knowing the file was there was good news. Because I work with two screens, I kept my eye on my frozen Storyline tmp file and opened Task Manager on my second screen. Using Task Manager, I ended both of the non-responding Articulate tasks. THEN, I followed the video directions and dragged the tmp file to my desktop. I had to locate the Articulate Storyline program app and open the file with Storyline x64. When I received a warning that the file might become unusable if I changed the extension, I made a copy and opened the copy. After all, this was an experiment. Finally, I was able to follow Vince's video instructions and rename the file with the story extension. I found my work and saved it! Hurray!
