Requiring Activity Completion in Storyline Slides

I have a unique case where a SME would like a Google form for a survey to be included in a Storyline slide. I've got everything set up, but I'm trying to set up a trigger that would require the learner to complete the survey before continuing to the next slide. As of now, they can keep clicking "next" until they finish the slideshow.

I've tried just removing the "next" button, but I'm not sure how to make that work when I want them to move forward after they're done.

Thank you!

  • Hi Alisia,

Thanks for reaching out! Google Forms can be embedded using Web objects. Storyline and Web objects work independently, and Storyline can't detect if the form has been completed.

It may be something the community could assist with in terms of a Javascript trigger, so I'll defer to their expertise!

Thank you for your reply, Eric! Are you referring to embedding Google Forms as a web object in Rise? Or in Storyline?

I tried embedding it in Rise, but the "Continue" button I use to block learners from advancing until they "complete the block directly above," doesn't register for the web object.

  • Hello Alisia,

    Happy to step in!

There isn't a way for either Rise 360 or Storyline 360 to recognize the completion of an embedded Google Form because these forms are not part of the Articulate 360 platform.

You can time yourself filling out the form and disable the Next button on the slide where the form is hosted until a certain amount of time has elapsed. Here's how:

I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
