Hi Brent,
A combination of a 'Jump to slide' trigger and setting the revisit behavior of your slide to 'Reset to initial state' will reset the positions of drag-and-drop items on your slide when an incorrect attempt is made. Basically, you'll want to redirect your learners to the same slide after the 'Incorrect' layer is shown, and because the revisit behavior is set to 'Reset to initial state', the original positions of the objects will be restored.
