Rise Accessibility | Critical accessibility issue | Chrome will not move past header on lessons
Hello,
Our team had a Rise course recently go through an accessibility audit and I am hoping for some help with one critical accessibility issue.
This issue is specific to Chrome users. Safari is working correctly. When using a screen reader on lessons, the user is unable to use keyboard navigation tools to move past the header to the text and additional content on the lesson page. (The user can successfully navigate past the Cover Page. The error is happening on the lesson page.)
Is this a know problem? Do you have any suggestions to allow for Rise to be more accessible for Chrome users?
Best regards,
Renee

Hi Renee,
Which screen reader are you using for your testing?
Rise 360 courses work with the latest versions of NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.

Hello Karl,
In this instance, the auditor is using macOS 13.2.1 Chrome 110 w VoiceOver. Hi Renee!
Here's a short recording of me using VoiceOver on macOS 13.2.1 and Chrome 111. During this recording, I used the VoiceOver-specific keyboard shortcuts outlined in this article:
Give those keyboard shortcuts a try, and let me know if you have any success with it!

Hi Alyssa,
Thank you so much for you reply! After a bit more research it turns out there is a problem with Chrome 110 and VO. Our a11y auditor said this issue should be resolved with the update to Chrome 111. That's our hope!
Best,
ReneeHi Renee! I hope that the Chrome update will fix the issue you are experiencing.
Please let us know otherwise, and we'll continue investigating this with you.
Have a good one!
