Rise and "exit course" button

Thank you so much for your quick reply — I truly appreciate your support!

As you suggested, I went ahead and created a Storyline 360 slide with a button and embedded it into the final lesson of my Rise course using a Storyline block. I’m now tracking completion via that Storyline interaction, and it works as intended from a publishing perspective. So thank you for that confirmation!

However, I’ve encountered a few additional challenges and was hoping you might be able to advise.

Multilingual Branching Setup (RISE)

This is a multi-language course built within a single Rise file. Each language path contains a full training experience and ends with a final knowledge check (quiz). I've hidden the sidebar navigation to:

• Prevent learners from jumping between language versions
• Ensure a clean, focused learner experience

But here’s the issue:
Even when a learner gets 100% on the final quiz, the Continue button remains locked. It keeps showing the message that the learner must pass with at least 80% — even though they already did.

I’ve tested this extensively and double-checked that the passing score settings are correct. The problem only seems to happen when navigation is disabled. If I re-enable the sidebar, the quiz behaves as expected — but then learners can see the full list of all 5 language paths, which we’d really prefer to avoid.

Have you heard of this issue before? Is there any workaround to get the Continue button to unlock after quiz completion, while keeping the navigation panel hidden?

Storyline as Web Object (Alternative Attempt)

As a workaround, I also tried building the entire course in Storyline:

• Intro slide → language selection → branching to each embedded Rise course (as a web object)
• Once the Rise course is completed, learners are directed to a final slide with an “Exit” button that completes the course.

To ensure learners actually complete the Rise course, I attempted to:

• Disable the Next button initially
• Then use a True/False variable or timeline trigger to enable the Next button only after 20–25 minutes

But this introduces new issues:

• If a learner finishes early or takes longer, that timer logic breaks
• If the Rise window is closed prematurely, there’s no reliable way to detect completion or resume properly
• There’s no built-in trigger to track whether a learner actually completed the Rise content (including the quiz) from within Storyline

So we’re a bit stuck between the limitations of Rise's gated navigation and Storyline’s inability to monitor web object behavior.

Any Suggestions?

Given all this, I’d love to know:

• Is there any known workaround for the locked Continue button in Rise when navigation is disabled?
• Or any best practice for reliably tracking Rise course completion inside Storyline when using web objects?

This is a compliance training course, so we do need to ensure learners fully complete their language path, including the quiz.
