Rise quotes and quotation marks
Hi Everyone!
I'm happy to share that we released a new update for Rise 360!
This update fixes the issue you ran into where Quotation marks in Quote Blocks are not following the font formatting of your text entries. There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available!
Please let me know if you have any questions about this update or the issue you reported!
Hey Heather! The prebuilt Quote blocks will keep the default formatting of the quotation marks. I can see how with an option like Quote D, the marks feel like they should adopt the same font color. Let me talk this over with my team.
In the meantime, would using a Text or Statement block type be an acceptable workaround? Or possibly an Image + Text block?

(I am trying to use large font in the quote blocks, but it looks silly to have a 22 pt statement with tiny quotation marks, as I cannot edit the size of the quotation marks.) Using Text blocks is helpful; however, I like the option to use Block Entrance Animation to add a little action in non-interactive items. This feature excludes Text blocks, which removes this element from my quotations (which I like having an entrance). My other option is to make the quotations smaller so they look nicer with the hard-wired quotation marks. But that now doesn't draw your eye to a small statement.
I think with the Quote blocks, why even include the "" in the programming? Just allow us to add them with the texts? This would solve any of our issues (change of color, size, and using punctuation for other languages) as what is shown would match what we are entering in the field. Or have an option to "include quotation marks" as an option, which would allow us to include the pre-programmed marks or exclude them? Just some ideas.- KarlMuller2 years agoCommunity Member
Hi Lorri,
You can try this for Quote Blocks to get rid of the quotation marks:
Delete all the text from the Quote area and leave it blank.
Add your text to the Name area. Format the text just like any other text paragraph. You can add your own quotation marks.
Note: Quote A and C will force a "-" at the start of the text.
Change the avatar to another image.
