Rise resume
The resume feature does not work properly in the Rise. Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Hi,
I have been reading through this thread and it appears to be relevant to an issue I am having. I have published a Rise course to LMS using scorm and from what I can make out is that there is no option but to resume from where you left off with this format.
Can I just ask is this correct?
Is there plans for adding a resume prompt option?
Thanks
Hi Kevin,
You got it! The Rise content will always resume if you're hosting in a Learning Management System (LMS) and the LMS supports the resume/bookmarking behavior.
Are you looking for a similar prompt to what you've seen in Storyline and/or Studio - where it asks the learner if they'd like to resume and they have the option to start the course over? I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!

Hi Ashley,
Can I please have a question with regard to resume in Rise?
I understand that when learner launches the course again, it will automatically resume to the beginning (title) of the lesson where they left off. Will this affect the interactive items in this lesson which learner has clicked in their last log-on? Will they have to click through all of these items again?
Many thanks,
Hang
Hi again Marie-Pierre! 👋
That's a great question. When a Rise course is hosted on a LMS, the course will always resume where the learner left off. There aren't any resume settings in Rise--it happens automatically!
I noticed you opened a case, and Angelo tested your Rise content in SCORM Cloud. Give me a shout if you have any questions about the link he sent you for testing. I'm here to help!

Hi Alyssa,
I published Rise course to Scorm 2004, 4th addition, and then hosted on LMS.
When the learner go and view each module, on the side menu shows with the check mark inside of a circle that part viewed.
We have quiz at end of each module. When they learner finish the quiz on (let say) module 3 and before it goes to the next module if learner close the Rise course. The resume take learner back to the beginning of module 3. Not at the end of module 3 (after quiz).
So the resume is not working perfectly. Like Articulate storyline.
I am trying to search and see how we can fixed that, but I think Rise doesn’t have the functionality that resume take the learner back to exact at the part they left. Am I right?
Hi Shirin,
Unfortunately, we're not able to track how much of the lesson is complete unless you insert continue blocks. That's why it's bringing the learner back to the last lesson they had open, in case they hadn't gotten to the end of it.
I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you need me to clarify.
Hi Marie-Pierre,
I popped in to check on your case and see that our team was unable to replicate.
Were you able to follow up with your LMS team or enable the debug log that Angelo shared with you?
Feel free to just e-mail back to him in your case when you get a moment if you're still experiencing difficulty.
Hi there, and thanks for checking in. We're still keeping our eye on this request. If it makes it into a future update of Rise, we'll let you know! Here's a peek into how we manage feature ideas when we receive them.

Are the resume settings still the same for a course hosted within an LMS-where they automatically resume? I'd like to be able to edit the resume settings like Storyline. Ideally, we'd like to give the learner the choice to resume or start from the beginning.
Hi Becca,
At the moment, a re-launched Rise course will always prompt the learner to resume. However, some LMSs have features that will allow you to force a new attempt on the learner after completion.
If you have time to log a feature request and tell us more about how more advanced resume features would be useful to you, that would be super helpful!

Thank you Alison
You're welcome!
Hi Shirin,
I wanted to follow up with you on this because after further investigation it turns out that even if you insert a continue block, the Rise course will always resume to the beginning of the last lesson the learner was looking at.
Sorry for leading you astray! Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

We've published 2 courses in Rise 360 and they are not resuming where the learner left off. We published them as SCORM 1.2 and they are in our LMS. It's frustrating our learners. What can we do to resolve this issue. Any ideas?
Hi Karyn!
When learners revisit the course, does it resume to the beginning? Some LMS's won't resume properly unless you include an Exit Course link inside your Rise 360 course. Crystal shared more detail about that in her post here.
There are two ways you can add Exit Course functionality to your course:
- Add a button block, and set the button destination to "Exit Course."
- Publish the course for LMS, and on the publishing screen, toggle the "Exit Course" link to ON.
Test the course again after adding the Exit Course button or link, and let me know if that resolves the issue!

I have both of those things in place on these courses. It still doesn't work.

Thanks for letting us know, Karyn! From here, we'd like to test your file in SCORM Cloud (an LMS testing tool) to see if we can recreate the resume problem. Would you mind sharing it?
If that works for you, please attach the LMS output file to this case form. We'll keep the file private and delete it as soon as we're done testing.
