Saving progress for Rise checklist block

Hello fellow users!

We are using Rise to build an online checklist that serves as an orientation for novices.

We thought that the progress of the checklist block would be saved so that users could see what they have already checked off, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

We are moving towards adding a Continue button beneath each checkbox section with the dependency of the completion of the previous block, but am on here hoping we were wrong and things are saved.

Can the checklist block actually continue to show checked items when the learner returns to the lesson?

As you have already determined, Rise does not save the states of a Checklist block. The checked states will remain selected during the current session only, but the states will not be there when the learner returns to the Lesson on another occasion.

Oh wow, I wasn't aware that checkbox selections don't save when the course is closed.  +1 request for this feature.

  • Thanks, everyone. I've tagged this discussion to be updated if we make that change!

I am requesting/voting for this update to Rise. I don't see the point to have a checklist if this progress cannot be saved.

    Thanks!

  • I'm running into this issue on Rise and Storyline360 for a new hire checklist. Even when you check the slide to resume upon saving it doesn't save.

Is it possible to mail the completed checklist block when it is all filled in. I would like to try this as a tool for machine operators. I would like to set it up as a "mail button"

    1. they would fill out a start procedure check list.

    2. They would email to their supervisor

    3. Go on to next check list.

Having the checklist reset each time would be good in this scenario.

  • Hey all! No updates yet on this yet, but we'll be sure to update you here if we make any changes that help!

If you need a workaround, you can check out this post for a community-collaborated solution using a custom script.

  • Is there a way to hack into the code as a work around for saving checked check boxes using the check box list?
