SCORM Content Load Issue on LMS
What LMS are you using for production? It would seem that the problem is either directly with the LMS, or the interaction of that specific LMS with these courses. (Of course, to be sure, you'd have to do more than one test on SCORM Cloud.) It could in principle even really be the suspend data ... and the LMS you're using doesn't handle it the same way as most systems.
Hmm ... this source says that there is a surprisingly small limit on the size of suspend data in SCORM 1.2, and the solution is to go to SCORM 2004. This isn't always practical, at least one major LMS doesn't fully support SCORM 2004, even in 2026.
Hmm again ... suspend data limits were discussed on this very forum before:
How would you confidently diagnose suspend_data is exceeding SCORM 1.2 limit? | E-Learning Heroes
Thank you for sharing the links to the forums. I ran the console again to check. Here's what it is showing. Does this imply that there are issues at the LMS end?
Hi Nehawadhwa123,
Great to see that Carl has been helping you.
It sounds like the course works as expected in SCORM Cloud, and the issue is temporarily resolved when clearing the suspend data. This points more strongly to how the LMS is storing or restoring the course’s SCORM data rather than an issue with the course itself.
The console report doesn’t prove an LMS error, but it looks like the course is communicating through the LMS’s SCORM wrapper. Since the behavior continues after switching from SCORM 1.2 to SCORM 2004, a SCORM 1.2 suspend data character limit seems unlikely to be the cause.
I suggest sharing the same package that passed in SCORM Cloud with your LMS provider. They might be able to check what happens when an existing learner's attempt and their suspended data are restored. It would also be helpful to confirm exactly what data they are clearing when they resolve the issue from the backend.
