Searching text in Rise to change it

Hi all,

When building Rise courses, sometimes terminology gets changed and text needs to be updated to reflect the new terms being used. Let's use the example that development of a piece of software was updated and menu labels have changed and the elearning build now needs to be updated to reflect the changes.

With this in mind, currently, I'm searching within Rise using the CTRL+F function. However, this is limited in what is currently visible. An example would be, if I have an accordion block, the find function will not look into the collapsed accordion. To look in there, I first need to expand every item of the accordion then start the search.

Please note that this principle isn't limited to the accordion block - it applies to any block where the text content is not all displayed at once such as flip cards, process block, image hotspot, etc.

The question, then: Is there a more efficient way to search all of the text within a Rise course than what I'm currently doing with the CTRL+F function?

Kind regards,

Sam

  • Currently, the best way to search for a term is probably this:

    • Publish the Rise course as a PDF.
    • Search for instances of the term in the PDF while you edit the course in your browser.

By the way, there have been other discussions about the need for Find/Find-and-Replace functionality in Rise. You can add your voice to that clamor by submitting a feature request here:

Thank you Judy for taking the time to respond.

Shame there isn't something built in. Will prod the link you provided.
