SL 360 Quiz timer only showing up when set for 1st slide

Hello, all! I apologize if this is out in the conversations--I have been searching for an answer and unable to find any. I have a set of quizzes, each its own project so pretty straightforward. I know this is easier when we can see the actual files; unfortunately for this, the quizzes contain proprietary information that I can't share. Blerg.

The issue: if I set the quiz timer to start with the 1st slide, the timer is visible. If I set the quiz timer to start with the 1st question, the timer is not. I need the timer to both be visible and start with the 1st question. This is working on 3/9, and as far as I can tell, nothing is different in the results slides or quiz settings between the 3 and the 6. 

I'm on a super tight deadline so I am feeling the stress, which I'm sure is not helping me. Any outside help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi LeslieHB! It sounds like you’d like the quiz timer to show on both the first slide and the first question. I tested this on my end and saw the timer appear in both spots. If that’s not happening in your file, here are a couple of things you can try:

    • Recreate the results slide to see if that resolves it
    • Import your current project into a new .story file

    If you’re still up against a deadline and the issue continues, I recommend opening a support case so our Support Engineers can jump in and take a closer look.

    Hi, Lauren! Thank you for taking the time to look into this. I did one of those classic things where I discovered the answer about 7 minutes after posting this, and then got sucked back into the project and forgot to come back here.

    The solution I found--in case anyone else runs into this--was simple but sort of out of sight, out of mind. 

    Results slide
    Result Tools Design in upper tabs
    Quiz Settings
    Make sure that the scene and slide for your first question are checked, so the system knows that this is the start of the quiz and thus the start of the timer. 

    After that the timer worked and showed up exactly as I needed!
