SL360 build v3.109.36125.0 can't open older .story files??

I need to open a file created by a team mate who is absent today. I'm pretty sure the file isn't corrupted, but I'm also sure they haven't updated their SL360 application in a while... so why can't the newest build of SL360 open a file created on a (slightly) older version?
