State Not Being Triggered with Variable
I am having trouble with different character states being triggered with my variables.
I have set up 3 different characters in my module and am using states to change between them. When I go to set up the trigger to set the state to a specific character when the variable is chosen in the beginning, 1 or 2 characters will change but another one will just revert back to the normal place holder.
I have copy and pasted the triggers and 1 or 2 will work but I cannot for the life of me figure out why some of them are just reverting back to that normal place holder state.
I forgot to attach my screenshots. In this example Shane and Chloe states show when their value is selected but when Nadiya is selected it doesn't show Nadiya Chapter 1 state it just shows Normal state, even though that is what I have to trigger.
One possible reason: the trigger that adjusts the Character variable uses the wrong spelling. In other words, it sets the variable to something similar to but actually not "Nadiya." So the trigger that changes to the Nadiya state when the value = "Nadiya" never runs.
If that's not the problem, well, further troubleshooting is just more guessing without seeing the .story file. If you upload it, someone might be able to solve the issue.
Here are the best practices for uploading a .story file:
- Only include slides that are related to the problem.
- Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
- If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.
