States switch automatically without trigger

Hi,
I really need some help.
I have a multiple choice slide, and when I click the choice for A, it automatically changes the A button to red and holds that state. (There isn't even a trigger for that button to do that. It's so odd.)
However, when I copy and paste those same triggers for choice B, and I click on B, it doesn't change the button to red.
I have no idea why this is happening. Ideally, I would like the B button to also change to red and hold that state after it is clicked. Even though I set up a trigger for it to do that, it doesn't work.
Can someone please help?
