Storyline - Font is changing when publish!

When previewing and publishing the course, there is a section on a table on a slide that is altering the font size. I have recreated the slide and table but it is still changing the font. I have attached a screenshot and the module within the course.

  • This will relate to the margins that the textbox has, found by right-clicking the cell and choosing Format Shape from the context menu. Under the Text Box menu of the window that pops up, you'll see 10px margins. For whatever reason, when Storyline previews and publishes our text, it sometimes appears differently than it was shown in the editor, and for me at least, 90% of the time it's those margins that throw things off.

Best I can figure, when the course actually renders in preview or publish, the margins push more into the text than was shown and so the program compensates by shrinking the text to fit. I don't think it's an accident for instance that the problem cell has five bullets while the cell to its left only has four. The one with four doesn't need to be shrunk because it has enough room when the course is rendered.

To avoid this, I tend to zero out all margins on any text content that floats in the center, whether it be a table cell or a rectangle. It's not fun to have to be so deliberate in the use of margins, but that's where the solution lies. I shaved a couple pixels off the top and bottom margins of that cell and it seems to be rendering fine for me now.

Thank You Andrew. Just ensure I am understanding correctly, you are suggesting to reduce the margins? Please see the attached. Did you adjust Left/Right or Top/Bottom?

Yup, those are the ones! I reduced the top and bottom. The left and right shouldn't affect the spacing either way since it's the number of bullets relative to the size of the cell that's creating the quirk.
