Storyline 2: Where's the setting to prevent video compression?
Hi Josh,
I checked in with a few of my colleagues, and it seems that the codec is less of the issue, and it's more associated with the profile it was created with. You'll need to have an MP4 that is created with the correct profile. The three most common MP4 profiles: baseline, main, and high. If the Compression property is grayed out in Storyline, it means your video was created with a different profile.
According to that wikipedia article linked, there are 22 different profiles, so I'd look into what profile they were created with in Final Cut Pro.
If you have a case number you could share with me here, I can check into the case you were working on with Cleo as well.
My videos are exported from Final Cut Pro X into Compressor and the settings are very clear.
Format is MP4 and profile is baseline. I have not edited them in Storyline2 but the "compression none" is grayed out.
If I re-encode the video in Handbrake and bring that into Storyline2 the "None" option becomes available.
I have 49 videos. Final Cut Pro X and Compressor are professional tools. I hope you pursue what the problem is and solve it.
